Google Cloud launches new generative AI, cybersecurity, and data analytics trainings with employer partner the U.S. Department of the Treasury

To advance President Biden’s Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence, the U.S. Department of the Treasury joins forces with Google Cloud to reimagine talent acquisition. The Treasury will harness the newly announced Google Cloud Certificates to drive a new skills-based hiring effort to expand access to jobs in data analytics and cybersecurity.

No-cost access to new Google Cloud trainings

Google Cloud is providing higher education institutions, as well as government and nonprofit workforce development programs worldwide with no-cost access to the new Google Cloud Certificates and courses in generative AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity.

Gen AI has triggered massive demand for these skills, especially in the areas of cybersecurity and data analytics1. In the U.S. alone:

There are over 505,000 open entry-level roles2 related to a Cloud Cybersecurity Analyst, with a median annual salary of $135,0003.There are more than 725,000 open entry-level roles4 related to a Cloud Data Analyst, with a median annual salary of $85,7005.

Available on YouTube and Google Cloud Skills Boost, these hands-on programs are designed to harness the power of cloud computing and prepare talent to meet digital transformation goals within the public sector:

Generative AI courses: Covering foundational principles to advanced model construction, these courses allow learners to earn skill badges and unlock generative AI’s transformative capabilities within the public sector.Google Cloud Cybersecurity Certificate: Bolster digital defenses with cybersecurity training, equipping learners to protect sensitive data, identify threats, and fortify critical public systems.Google Cloud Data Analytics Certificate: Master the tools and techniques to derive actionable insights from extensive datasets, facilitating informed decision making within the public sector.
