Use of single or private cloud has trended downward from 29% in 2019 to only 2% in 2021. This comes from a recent IBM study. In case you think I was burying the lead, this leads to the logical conclusion that hybrid or multicloud is the dominant IT architecture.
The most concerning issue about most enterprises going multicloud is their lack of preparation to make multicloud and hybrid cloud work as a solution platform for the business. In other words, obstacles exist in leveraging this technology effectively.
The trouble comes when enterprises use multicloud due to circumstance, usually short development or migration projects that have been operating independently.
