AWS named a Leader in 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud Database Management Systems

Industry analyst firm Gartner has published its annual report evaluating cloud-based data and analytics services, the 2021 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Database Management Systems. AWS was once again named a Leader and placed highest among 20 recognized vendors for its “Ability to Execute.”

We’re honored by the recognition from the highly respected technology adviser, and we’re sharing the report here because we believe it offers guidance to our customers at a critical time. Much like how the introduction of the cloud spawned a generation of reinvention, at AWS, we believe the next wave of reinvention is being driven by data, and the time to choose wisely is now.

As customers continue to show their trust in the AWS database and analytics portfolio, including services such as Amazon Aurora, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon DynamoDB, AWS understands our success lies in helping our customers figure out this next data-driven wave of reinvention.

To that end, we’re working to help our customers build their own modern data strategies so their businesses will thrive into the future.

Our belief is that the best data strategy for our customers isn’t “one size fits all.” It’s adapted to your unique needs. It gives you the best of both data lakes and purpose-built data stores. It lets you store any amount of data you need at a low cost and in open, standards-based data formats. It isn’t restricted by data silos, and empowers companies to run analytics and machine learning using your preferred tool or technique. And most importantly, it lets you securely manage who has access to your data.

We realize that building a data strategy isn’t easy. It’s continually evolving and presents a different journey for each of our customers. We look forward to sharing this journey.
