AIAB Announces Intercorp as Newest Corporate Partner

June 6, 2023

Wharton AI & Analytics for Business (AIAB) is pleased to announce it’s newest Corporate Partner, Intercorp.  Intercorp is one of the most important Peruvian business groups and is committed to provide goods and services that are helping to create a better quality of life for Peru’s emerging middle-class families. Intercorp provides a variety of services to satisfy consumer preferences in financial services, retail, healthcare, and education. Together, AIAB and Intercorp will be engaging with faculty across the US to create new research. The overall goal of this research engagement for Intercorp is to adopt a more analytical view and to gain insights into a single customer across BUs, in an effort to recommend relevant products, services, and lending solutions.

“We are delighted to welcome Intercorp as our newest Corporate Partner. When a company approaches us to work with our consortium of academics to help validate their business practices or think more innovatively, we are excited for the new research that is produced through the bench strength of PhD’s who will be working on the data. This is why we exist, to create new research and contribute to the field. Academics are thrilled for the chance to work with a real company on a current dataset,” says Raghu Iyengar, Faculty Co-Director of AI & Analytics for Business.

The renowned corporate program at AIAB provides Intercorp with the opportunity to engage with faculty, staff, and students to tackle business analytics problems, engage in research and thought leadership, and prepare the next generation of data-driven decision makers. This spring, AIAB and Intercorp sent out a call for proposals, asking academics to work on Intercorp’s business challenges using their data over a  9-12 months research cycle. There were 11 proposal submitted and 5 were chosen. Research will begin summer of 2023 and will end in 2024.
